RXSOL-13-1048-025 Masonry Brick Cleaner,is a professional inhibited acidic masonry cleaner. Acid masonry cleaners are established for removing mortar/cement residues, efflorescence and mineral deposits, but overly strong acid can attack mortar and certain masonry, so the application instructions need proper dilution and surface testing.
Product Code: RXSOL-13-1048-025
RXSOL Masonry Brick Cleaner is a powerful, fast-acting acidic cleaner specially formulated for the removal of mortar residues, cement deposits, lime deposits, efflorescence, rust stains, mineral scale and construction-related staining from brickwork and masonry surfaces.
The product combines powerful acid cleaning action with wetting agents and corrosion-inhibiting components to penetrate stubborn mineral deposits and rapidly loosen cementitious contamination from the surface.
Its concentrated formulation allows the product to be diluted according to the severity of contamination, making RXSOL Masonry Brick Cleaner suitable for both heavy-duty post-construction cleaning and general masonry maintenance.
Fast-acting masonry and brick cleaning formulation.
Rapidly attacks cement, mortar and lime-based deposits.
Helps remove rust stains and mineral discoloration.
Effective against efflorescence and construction residue.
Powerful wetting action improves penetration into stubborn deposits.
Inhibited acid formulation provides better control than the use of untreated mineral acid alone.
Reduces the need for excessive mechanical scrubbing.
Concentrated product for economical dilution with water.
Suitable for professional construction, industrial and maintenance applications.
Easy to apply by acid-resistant brush or low-pressure chemical sprayer.
RXSOL Masonry Brick Cleaner provides a combination of strong chemical cleaning and excellent surface penetration.
The active acidic components react with cementitious and mineral deposits, helping break down and loosen deposits so that they can be removed by thorough water rinsing.
The incorporated wetting system improves contact between the cleaner and contaminated surface, particularly on porous masonry.
The product is supplied as a concentrate, allowing the operator to adjust cleaning strength according to the type of substrate and severity of contamination.
RXSOL Masonry Brick Cleaner is recommended for cleaning:
Brickwork
Clay bricks
Masonry walls
Concrete surfaces*
Cementitious surfaces*
Paving blocks
Sandstone and compatible natural stone*
Building façades
Construction equipment
Cement and mortar contaminated tools
Acid-resistant tiles and surfaces
Mortar residue
Cement splashes
Cement film
Lime deposits
Efflorescence
Mineral deposits
Rust and iron staining
Construction dirt
Plaster residue
Scale deposits
General inorganic staining
*Compatibility testing is essential before use.
Remove loose dirt, dust and heavy pieces of mortar mechanically before chemical cleaning.
Thoroughly pre-wet the masonry surface with clean water, particularly when treating porous brickwork.
Protect adjacent surfaces, vegetation and equipment that may be sensitive to acidic cleaners.
The optimum dilution should always be established by carrying out a small test area first.
| Cleaning Requirement | Recommended Starting Dilution |
|---|---|
| Heavy mortar / cement deposits | 1 part product : 1–2 parts water |
| Heavy construction residue | 1 : 2–3 |
| Normal masonry cleaning | 1 : 3–5 |
| Efflorescence / mineral staining | 1 : 5–10 |
| Light cleaning / maintenance | 1 : 10–20 |
Start with the weaker recommended concentration and increase strength only when necessary.
Always add the cleaner slowly to water. Never add water into concentrated acidic cleaner.
Apply the diluted solution evenly using an acid-resistant brush or low-pressure chemical sprayer.
Allow sufficient time for the product to react with the contamination.
Visible bubbling or reaction may occur when the cleaner contacts cementitious or carbonate-containing deposits.
Do not allow the cleaning solution to dry on the surface.
For stubborn contamination, light agitation with an acid-resistant brush may be used.
After cleaning, rinse the treated surface thoroughly with large quantities of clean water.
Ensure that loosened deposits and residual cleaning chemical are completely removed.
A second treatment may be applied where exceptionally heavy deposits remain.

Typical descaling cleaning procedure :
1st Stage : Take ‘RXSOL-11-1053-010’ weblink ( http://rxmarine.com/Alkaline-Descaler ) and mix with water in the ratio of 1:6 (One litre of RXSOL-1053 and six litres of water). Circulate the solution or immerse the equipment in this solution for 2 hrs. This will be helpful in loosening the hard deposited scale.
RXSOL-40-1048-025 should not be used on Aluminium, Zinc, Tin, or any Galvanized Surfaces for which a special grade cleaner should be used. Chemical Cleaning Module Rx cleansers has developed a 280 litres capacity cleaning module, primarily designed for use with chemical acid solvents for descaling boilers, calorifiers, heat exchangers & other types of equipment where rust & scale form RXSOL-11-1008--DC Boilers, See Rx cleansers Practical Application Manual.
Formation of Calcium Sulfate is main cause for SCALE formation :::
The principal problem potential posed by sulfate ions in water is the possibility of calcium sulfate scale formation. Precipitation of calcium sulfate can occur when high concentrations of both calcium and sulfate exist simultaneously. There are three primary areas of water treatment in which calcium sulfate precipitation may occur boilers, cooling systems, and ion exchangers operating in the hydrogen or acid mode.
In boilers, calcium sulfate scale formation has been reduced to a minimum by modern treatment practices. The low hardness levels largely preclude calcium sulfate boiler scale. By contrast, cooling systems are subject to calcium sulfate scale deposition because the makeup is usually not treated for hardness removal. Cooling water is usually treated with sulfuric acid for pH control, and the makeup is cycled, i.e. concentrated. Calcium sulfate scale deposition can result unless the cycles of concentration are properly controlled in conjunction with the proper use of scale control chemicals. Cation ion exchangers regenerated with sulfuric acid also can pose a major calcium sulfate problem. Calcium sulfate precipitation can be avoided by controlling the acid concentration and the flow rate through the exchanger.
Sulfate content can be calculated in Laboratory by using this method ::: http://rxmarine.com/SULFATE-TEST-KIT

MASONRY BRICK CLEANER
Fast-Acting Inhibited Acid Cleaner for Brick, Masonry & Construction Residues
One important change from the Corium wording: I would not publish “will not harm most finishes or damage paint coatings.” That's too broad for an acidic masonry cleaner. Even commercial brick-cleaner documentation warns about acid-sensitive stone, decorative surfaces, metals and possible masonry damage.
Also, your existing RXSOL masonry-cleaner material already uses the professional approach of pre-wetting, controlled dilution, short contact time and thorough rinsing, so this positioning is consistent with the RXSOL range. (Rx-Sol)
